Liverpool eye a move for Arsenal target Victor Osimhen of Napoli
Victor Osimhen was a very important part of a Napoli squad that won the Serie A last season and he continues to be a key player for Rudi Garcia’s squad. It was natural that other clubs would try and lure the Nigerian striker following his successful campaign last year.
Premier League clubs including Arsenal saw themselves linked with a move for the player but without avail, until now.
However, that could soon change as Liverpool also eye a move for the Arsenal target. According to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli via napolimagazine.com, Jurgen Klopp’s men look to bring the 24-year-old to Merseyside.
In 10 appearances across all competitions, Osimhen has six goals and an assist to his name. However, the question that arises is, do Liverpool actually need the services of Osimhen?
Take absolutely nothing away from the priceless talent that he is, but bringing him on board on Merseyside would cause an overload in the striker’s role.
As far as it is healthy competition which it is at this point, it is all fine. But anything beyond this could potentially cause harm to the team chemistry that Klopp has worked on with so much dedication over the years.
Moreover, given Osimhen’s fine form at the moment, it is almost certain that he won’t come cheap. With all of this in mind, we must ensure to spend any available resources on areas that are absolutely necessary.
