West Ham star Jarrod Bowen believes Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah is the best winger in the Premier League history

West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen declared that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is the best winger in Premier League history. The England international reasoned that the level of consistency and productivity of Salah makes him a proper benchmark.

Salah has been an indispensable figure for the Reds for over half a decade and achieved many successes at Liverpool. He has won the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Egyptian captain has reinvented himself this season to adapt to a new style of play under the manager Jurgen Klopp. Klopp has dubbed his team “Liverpool 2.0” after revamping the midfield during the summer. Salah was part of the famous and prolific trinity that consisted of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino as well. However, the Reds have sold the duo and replaced them with a younger forward with Salah as the only exception.

When asked directly, Bowen, speaking to Sky Sports via YouTube, declared Salah as the best winger in Premier League history. He said:

“Salah. The numbers he produces every year. He’s won Champions League and Premier League titles and scores 20 goals a season, every season. Hazard was a joke but for me, the way I play as well, probably a bit more biased towards a left-footed winger and who you want to base your game off. He’s the benchmark… Salah for me, he’s done it every year as well. For me, the way I play as well, I’m probably a bit more biased. Salah obviously, Saka as well.”

The 31-year-old successfully adapted to the new role and performed at a prolific level. The Egypt captain is the only remaining forward left from the famed trinity that included Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Liverpool acquired Salah from AS Roma during the summer of 2017 for an initial fee of £36.5 million. Since then, the Egyptian has featured in 317 matches for the Reds, scoring 195 goals and providing 83 assists.

The Egypt captain scored 32 goals in the Premier League in his first season at Anfield and won the Golden Boot. The 31-year-old has won the Premier League Golden Boot three times for the Red as he continued scoring consistently.
