Liverpool scout promising Palmeiras teenager Luis Guilherme
Liverpool are always on the lookout for promising young talent and have cast their gaze upon Palmeiras’ 17-year-old midfielder Luis Guilherme as part of their ongoing scouting efforts in Brazil.
Guilherme’s rise to prominence has been nothing short of meteoric. At the tender age of 17, he is already considered one of the highest-rated young talents in the world. Such acclaim doesn’t come by chance, and Liverpool, along with other top European clubs like Bayern Munich and Chelsea, have been closely monitoring his progress for quite some time.
The young sensation made his professional debut for Palmeiras in April, a mere two months after celebrating his 17th birthday. His introduction to the senior team came as a substitute in a 4-2 victory over Tombense, and since then, he has continued to impress.
Guilherme has featured in 27 matches across various competitions for the Serie A side and has featured as an attacking midfielder, left winger and a second striker as well which surely highlights his versatility. The Express notes the Reds’ interest in the player, following Fabrizio Romano’s revelation earlier claiming a few other clubs also show interest in the player.
Guilherme to the Reds?
It’s no surprise that Palmeiras recognised the immense potential within Guilherme and moved swiftly to secure his future. The talented midfielder recently signed a new contract with the club, extending his commitment until 2026 (Transfermarkt).
With a release clause priced at a staggering £48m that’s a lot for a teenager, it also reflects the confidence Palmeiras has in Guilherme’s bright future and underscores the fierce competition among potential suitors.
With Liverpool’s ambitions firmly set on bolstering their squad with emerging talents, the pursuit of both Guilherme and Andre Trindade of Fluminese is an ambitious and exciting future for the Reds.

While the chase for these young stars is indeed thrilling, it’s important to acknowledge the challenges and complexities that come with recruiting talent from overseas, especially at 17. Adapting to a new league, culture, and style of play can be daunting for young players. However, Liverpool’s history of nurturing talent and providing a supportive environment for their development bodes well for the prospect of Guilherme should he choose to make the move to Merseyside.
