‘Done deal’ claims on Salah Saudi switch contradict Jurgen Klopp despite Liverpool denials
Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah is the face of football in the Muslim world and it is natural that the cash-rich Saudi Pro-League clubs are keen to bring their boy back home. The Egyptian’s future at Anfield is unclear ahead of the 2024 summer transfer window but Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had claimed in a press conference yesterday that he didn’t hear any bid for his No. 11 this summer.
Reports from Football Insider( h/t Liverpoolecho) have claimed Mohamed Salah has agreed to join Saudi club Al-Ittihad next summer which directly contradicts Jurgen Klopp’s statem
The report sensationally states Salah moving to the Middle East is now a “done deal” with a verbal agreement in place.
It alleges the 31-year-old will leave Liverpool when his contract expires in 2024 and link up with the Saudi Pro League.
However, this completely contradicts Klopp’s adamant insistence yesterday that Salah remains committed to Liverpool. The Reds boss stated neither he nor the club have received any indication from Salah over wanting to depart.
Klopp was definitive when quashing rumors of a summer transfer request or bid from Al-Ittihad for the Egyptian.
Despite Football Insider’s bold “done deal” claims, Liverpool have dismissed the veracity of any agreement.
Salah himself has given no suggestion of desiring a Saudi switch despite the chance to earn mega-money ( £2.45m a week).
With the forward tied down until 2025, Liverpool possess the leverage to rebuff any approach in upcoming windows.
Salah remains focused on bringing more silverware to Anfield, with no personal contract issues on the horizon.
While Saudi interest is inevitable, Klopp’s stance indicates Salah’s future lies solely in his own hands.
