Liverpool are gearing up for a colossal Champions League final against Real Madrid, which will take place next weekend. We may have secured a top-four finish in the league but winning the elite European cup will be of utmost importance.

This is our first entry into the final since 2007 and given the team we have at hand, it is a now-or-never situation for Liverpool.

More than anything else, it will all come down to the prowess of our attacking trio comprising of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. They have been in excellent form on a consistent basis and a lot of our successes will depend on their performance in the final.

However, keeping Real from winning the Champions League for the third consecutive time will not be an easy task. Nevertheless, our gaffer seems to be optimistic about the same and he said as much in a recent interview.

As quoted by BBC, Klopp said:

“Real Madrid are more experienced. Experience is important in life but it is not the only thing.

“You can level it with desire, attitude and work-rate. And that is why I love football.

“We will try in a very positive way, to show the boys why it makes so much sense to be really brave. It was not easy to be brave against Manchester City, it was not easy to be brave against Roma. But the boys did it,” concluded Klopp.

Well, let’s hope Klopp’s words come true and that we finish the season on a high by winning the Champions League. It has been a while since any English team has even come close to reaching the finals and if we are able to win, it will establish as us the new kings of Europe.

Real have a solid team that has the ability to turn things around at any given point and we must be wary of them. The road to Kiev has seen us go through several ups and downs but if we are able to lift the beautiful trophy in the end, it will all be worth it.
