Hakim Ziyech has been one of the most important players for Dutch giants Ajax in recent seasons and the Liverpool target will be allowed to leave the club according to Voetbal (h/t The Liverpool Echo).
The 25-year-old Moroccan international mostly plays as a central midfielder and did have a pretty good season with his club, having scored 9 times and assisted 15 goals from just 34 games.
Another report from Italian outfit Calcio Mercato claims that we could face a lot of competition from our rivals and neighbours Everton.
Ziyech will be playing in the World Cup and there is no doubt that the event in Russia could play a huge role in where the midfielder might end up before the start of next season.
The 25-year-old is known for his passing ability, dribbling and is a threat from set-pieces as well. Looking at his playing style, the Moroccan could be a good fit for our side and given that we might be losing Emre Can to Juventus after the Champions League final, there is a need to add more depth to the midfield.
We will also be without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for a while as he recovers from surgery on his knee. Hence, the need to add more options in the middle of the park is extremely important.
Jurgen Klopp, however, did complete one smart bit of business by ensuring that Naby Keita joins us at the start of this season. The Guinean will certainly add a lot of bite to the midfield.
Our other options in the midfield include James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum, and maybe bringing in Ziyech will give us the perfect balance in terms of numbers as we look to challenge on a number of fronts in the coming season.
Klopp has not had the best of luck when it comes to dealing with injuries during his time at Liverpool and hopefully, we will not lose out on a number of players to long-term injuries in the coming seasons under the German.
