Liverpool now know price-tag for transfer target Crysencio Summerville of Leeds United
This is not a name many Liverpool fans would forget in a jiffy. Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville was the reason why Virgil van Dijk saw his Anfield streak broken. The Reds saw their 30-game unbeaten streak at home break after Summerville scored in the 89th minute against the Reds last season at the Fortress.
Fast forward to 14 months later, Summerville is now an active Liverpool transfer target according to ECHO. The 22-year-old winger who can lead either flank, has continued to impress with his performances in the Championship. In 23 appearances in the English second division, the Dutch U21 international has scored 12 goals and also has six assists to boot.
In his 34 Premier League appearances, the player has four goals and two assists. Furthermore, according to ECHO, the Reds have been monitoring the progress of the player for some time now and could look to make their move in the summer, especially if Leeds do not achieve promotion back to the top flight of English football on the first time of asking.
Considering Mohamed Salah’s absence, we do not have a recognised right-winger on board at the moment. True, Harvey Elliott can put in more than just a shift, but he does not have the pace of a traditional winger.
Our first signing of the January window?
Summerville has the pace and the raw quality that we would look for in a Liverpool winger. As adept as he is at playing on the right wing, the Reds have preferred inverted wingers, but in the Dutchman’s case, it would be fielding a right-footer leading the flank. Very recently, we saw Luis Diaz play through the right in the second half of our FA Cup win against Arsenal, he also scored from there.
Keeping in mind that, it surely won’t be a huge problem for the Reds to accommodate a player who prefers playing on his right foot on the right flank. As already mentioned, he has all the raw abilities to make the switch to Merseyside. He’s quick, he is a great finisher, and above all, he displays tremendous amounts of work-rate and that is something Jurgen Klopp would admire a lot.
According to TEAMtalk via ECHO, any interested party would need to part ways with around £30m to secure the signing of the promising young winger, as his list of suitors continues to grow.

£30m for a club as big as ours should come across as an affordable fee. However, it is more about Liverpool’s valuation of the player rather than what Leeds United see in him. Daniel Farke would view Summerville as a potential £80m star considering his impact on the club, but the market dynamics are different and Liverpool have to tread that path with utmost care.
