Paris Saint-Germain wants to replace Kylian Mbappe with Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a potential Liverpool candidate to replace Mohamed Salah
Paris Saint-Germain aims to swap Kylian Mbappe with Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, also eyed by Liverpool to succeed Mohamed Salah. Kvaratskhelia played a key role in Napoli’s historic success last season, winning the Serie A after 33 years of wait.
The 23-year-old has continued to dazzle the Italian league with his flair and dribbling even as Napoli struggled this season. Standing at 1.83 metres, Kvaratskhelia has the speed and athleticism to be a constant threat for Napoli in the attack.
The Georgia international players dominantly as a left winger but he is versatile enough to play as a second striker. Kvaratskhelia has incredible ball control and dribbling skills with the unpredictability to go inside or into the byline, confusing the defenders.
The 23-year-old is a very direct attacker, making continuous progressive runs with the ball with a high success rate in dribbling. He has the technical qualities and the creative mindset to carve open the opponent’s defence with a pass or score.
Kvaratskhelia has made 42 appearances for Napoli in all competitions this season, contributing with 10 goals and nine assists. Napoli are currently eighth in the Serie A table, struggling with form and consistency throughout this season.
Italian sports newspaper Corriere Dello Sport (h/t Fichajes) reported that PSG wants to replace outgoing star forward Mbappe with Kvaratskhelia. The Liverpool Echo reported that Liverpool are tracking the 23-year-old as a potential replacement for their legendary forward Salah.
Napoli already have a reputation for being a tough negotiator, asking astronomical figures for their top assets. While the report suggested that Napoli could demand around 120 million euros, the involvement of PSG makes things more complicated.

The Reds prefer developing a superstar rather than throwing an inflated amount on a highly reputed player unless it is necessary. As things stand, it is highly unlikely that Liverpool would pursue Kvaratskhelia despite his immense potential and young age. However, things can change in the transfer market and if Salah departs in the summer, the Reds could gain the financial power to sign Kvaratskhelia.
