Journo suggests the Reds should offload their superstar for a decent price this summer

Liverpool superstar, Mo Salah has been the talk of the town following Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Anfield this season. There has been a lot of talk suggesting that clubs in Saudi Arabia are keen on signing the Egyptian forward this summer.

It is believed that a sale for Salah could bring in over £100m for the Reds this summer. While that is certainly a very attractive figure the team also needs to consider the fact that Salah is probably their most important player.

Despite his importance, Journo Paul Robinson has urged Liverpool to get rid of Salah this summer. Let’s have a look at what he had to say about the Egyptian’s future while speaking on the topic on the Football Insider podcast. (h/t Liverpool Echo)

“From a business point of view, now is the time to let him go,”

“If you’re looking at £100m for him now and if you think that you can recruit and build a squad with the players you’ve got and use that money to get a replacement then this is the time.”

Robinson added that Liverpool might not be able to get such a great deal for Salah if they don’t make a move on him this summer. The Egyptian only has 12 months remaining on his contract meaning he could leave for free at the end of next season.

So, if the Reds don’t strike while the iron is hot, they will lose their most important player and won’t get any money for him either. The situation surrounding Salah can easily take a turn for the worse if the club doesn’t show any promptness.

If they can’t extend his contract by another year, maybe the Reds shouldn’t be waiting for him to run his deal down. Moving Salah this summer clearly seems like the better option for Liverpool.
