Liverpool and Manchester United look set to butt heads for PL defender
As reported by The Daily Mail, Manchester United and Liverpool are two of three teams that are keeping an eye on the situation of Premier League defender, Marc Guehi. The Crystal Palace CB has garnered interest from multiple clubs over the past few seasons.
The 23-year-old was limited to just 29 games last season due to a knee injury. However, every time he was available he was a sight to behold on defence. Guehi plays the mental game on defence and positions himself exquisitely to catch his opponents off guard.
He would be an excellent option for most Premier League sides. Apart from Manchester United and Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing the English defender this summer. However, Crystal Palace could spoil the party for everyone.
Currently, Guehi only has two years remaining on his contract with Crystal Palace. So, a deal for him this summer could end up being a bit on the cheaper side. However, Palace is trying to resign the 23-year-old and if that happens his contract will most likely have a release clause inserted into it.
Guehi is traveling with England right now to participate in the EUROs. So, no one will be able to make a move on him for at least the next few weeks. However, second England is back, Liverpool should jump the gun and try to bring Guehi in.
If the team waits too long, someone else might end up snagging the English defender. Even worse, Guehi might end up signing a new contract with Palace, which would make him quite expensive.
