Arne Slot praises Jurgen Klopp in his first ever interview for Liverpool
After nine years, a manager other than Jurgen Klopp sat down for an interview with Liverpool as Arne Slot gave his first-ever interview for the Reds. The Dutchman shed light on a number of topics and said he is excited to be here and succeed with the Reds.
Slot had a ton of praise for Klopp while he was speaking to Liverpool FC. The Dutchman was impressed with how Klopp left the team and said he did it in the ‘best possible way’. Even back when Klopp left Dortmund in 2015, he left them as the 2014 DFL-Supercup champions. He only stepped down because he believes Dortmund should be coached by the right man for the job which wasn’t him anymore.
Let’s have a look at what Slot had to say about the German manager. (h/t Liverpool FC)
“As his successor he left Liverpool in the best possible way, I think. So, a very good team, the fans are very good as well, so [I am] looking forward to it.
Slot also mentioned that Klopp had done a tremendous job at Liverpool and was very happy to see him as a fan of the club. The two have also been speaking to each other ever since the Dutchman took over at Anfield. Slot has been learning a lot of essential information from the German manager.
Klopp will be cheering the Dutchman on from the sidelines as he takes Liverpool into the Arne Slot era. The Reds manager also mentioned that his playing style doesn’t differ a lot from that of Klopp’s so fans shouldn’t be expecting any crazy changes.
However, he did also mention that since he is Klopp’s successor things can’t exactly be the same. From the looks of it, we can expect the same high-intensity football from Liverpool next season, hopefully, with a proper touch of Slot ball as well.
