Jurgen Klopp takes new Liverpool role after leaving managerial post at Anfield
Legendary Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has agreed to become an honorary ambassador of the LFC Foundation – the club’s official charity, a day after rejecting the opportunity to become USMNT’s head coach.
The German tactician brought an end to his illustrious nine-year spell at Anfield at the end of the 2023-24 campaign. Jurgen Klopp bid an emotional farewell to Anfield having won every single major honour on the red half of Merseyside.
After his stint with Liverpool, Klopp planned to take a sabbatical from the managerial hotseat, having stated back in January he was “running out of energy”. However, he was approached by the United States to become their new manager after they decided to part ways with Gregg Berhalter following the debacle at the ongoing Copa America.
Klopp is understood to have politely rebuffed USA’s approach. Instead, he has reinforced his ties with Liverpool by becoming the first-ever honorary ambassador of Liverpool’s official charity, the LFC Foundation.
“The LFC Foundation does an incredible job in the community, both in the Liverpool City Region and beyond. I am really proud to continue my work with them and be named the first-ever LFC Foundation honorary ambassador. I look forward to seeing what we can do with that now that I have more time on my hands,” Klopp was quoted by the club’s official website.
The 57-year-old has once again demonstrated his love and commitment to the Liverpool Football Club by continuing to work for a cause that he supported passionately across his time in England. Klopp has always been an admirer and ambassador of the LFC foundation, as evidenced by his welcoming visits to the AXA Training Centre, attending charity events to raise funds and speaking on a range of topics concerning the city.

It further tells about the human side of our beloved gaffer. As well as being a fierce and passionate competitor on the pitch, Klopp is an excellent man off it and values relationships with players and managers. His support for our club has been unwavering since stepping feet at Anfield and his decision to become an honorary ambassador of the LFC Foundation further reinforces it.
Even if the German is no longer our gaffer, him being a huge part of the LFC Foundation means he stays connected with the club in some way or another.
