Liverpool youngster Ben Doak is available for loan with an option to buy him with a permanent deal also possible. The Reds are making surprise moves that have the fanbase divided with many youngsters potentially leaving the club this summer.
RB Salzburg are already targeting another highly-rated youngster Bobby Clark for a permanent transfer move to reunite with Pep Lijnders. However, the situation between Clark and Doak is drastically different due to the level at which they have respectively developed.
Doak enjoyed important cameos and first-team experience at a very young age under the legendary former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. However, injuries have riddled the development of the 18-year-old despite his immense potential and early rise in reputation at Liverpool.
The Scotsman has already broken into the Scottish international team but he has not made his highly-anticipated debut for them. The 18-year-old missed most of the last season due to a knee injury that required surgery in December.
Scotland still selected Doak for the UEFA Euro 2024 competition’s provisional squad but he had to withdraw due to injury. According to DaveOCKOP (via Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are ready to send Doak on a loan deal with a permanent deal option available.
Southampton and Leicester City want the 18-year-old after recently earning promotion from the Championship and eager to bolster their squads. Doak will hold talks with head coach Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Arnold over his future at the club.
Liverpool’s social media is abuzz with divided opinions, as many fans express their belief that a permanent deal is premature. Doak could prove his worth and rectify his career course by fulfilling his huge potential as a wide attacker.
