Sevilla centre-back Loic Bade recently renewed his contract, expressing a strong desire to remain in Seville despite interest from clubs in Italy and France. However, his contract extension doesn’t guarantee he will stay with the club indefinitely, leaving the door open for future moves.
Bade joined Sevilla at the beginning of 2023 on loan from Stade Rennais, before making the move permanent the following summer. Since then, the 24-year-old centre-back has become a key player, featuring in 63 matches and contributing three goals for the Spanish side. He has shown consistent growth and continues to be an important part of Sevilla’s defence.
Bade’s consistent performances for Sevilla earned him a spot in the French squad that secured a silver medal at the Olympics. Although he still has five years remaining on his contract, his time at the club could be cut short as top European sides have started to take notice. With a release clause exceeding £42 million, clubs like Bayern Munich, PSG, and Liverpool are reportedly monitoring the 24-year-old, potentially eyeing a move for him next summer.
How Liverpool can use Bade
Liverpool are preparing for life without Virgil van Dijk, with his contract set to expire in less than 10 months. Although the club hopes to extend his stay, they are considering alternatives, including Sevilla’s Loic Bade, as a long-term replacement. Arne Slot has tasked his scouting team with monitoring Loic Bade until the end of the season. However, if Liverpool pursue him next summer, they will face stiff competition from Bayern Munich and PSG.

The German giants are looking to strengthen their defence and see Loic Bade as a strong addition. Meanwhile, PSG are eager to bring in top French talent, believing Bade could soon become a regular in the national team.
According to a report via Football Espana, the 24-year-old has had offers from Italy and France though he has no desire to leave Sevilla nor push for an exit. Seen as a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, the Frenchman would have future-proofed the role for Liverpool. Unfortunately, it would now appear that we have to look elsewhere.
