Liverpool have been subject to links with Sevilla defender Lois Bade for a while now as the Merseyside Reds look to add a physical and athletic profile at the heart of the park. The 24-year-old can be an interesting addition to the roster at Arne Slot’s disposal, as he brings different attributes to the table than what the club already possesses.
However, it would be a difficult task to attain the 24-year-old’s signature as he has been aggressively linked with multiple clubs from around Europe while he keeps on staying with his current employers.
Liverpool’s defensive dilemma – Is Bade the solution?
Liverpool are in dire need of depth in the position, as realistically there is only one backup to Ibrahim Konate and Virgil van Dijk in Joe Gomez and Quansah. The Reds have failed to bring in a viable replacement since the departure of Joel Matip in the summer, which opens up the need to bring in quality at the back.
That being said, Van Dijk is nearing an end to his contract at Anfield Stadium, and the fact that the duo of Konate and Gomez have injury problems on a consistent basis means the conditions to bring in a new centre-back keep on ascending.
While the Dutch international has been linked with a new contract, it doesn’t push us away from the need at hand.
Lois Bade has the quality to shine in the Premier League, and per the latest addition of AS (via. Sport Witness), claim that the Reds are ‘actively looking’ to pursue a deal for €80,192 gross per week defender. His current contract with Sevilla is said to have a $67m (£50/€60m) release clause , however the report states that Sevilla will be willing to sell him for a considerably lesser fee.
