Hansi Flick is reportedly urging Barcelona to acquire 31-year-old Brazilian international Alisson Becker from Liverpool as a replacement for Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s long-term knee injury has prompted Barcelona to search for a world-class goalkeeper. As a result, several candidates have come to the forefront, with Hansi Flick advocating for the Blaugrana to secure Liverpool veteran Alisson Becker, who has spent six seasons at the Merseyside club and now considered a Legend.

Could Liverpool and Alisson Be Heading for a Parting of Ways?

Since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in a high-profile deal worth £66.8 million in July 2018 which made him the most expensive goalkeeper of that time, Alisson Becker has only improved, now earning an impressive £150,000 per week. While the move raised numerous questions at the time, the Merseyside club were in urgent need of a world-class goalkeeper. The experienced shot-stopper has proven himself and justified the investment made in him six years ago.

The 31-year-old has arguably been the best goalkeeper in the world over the past few years, serving as a key player for both Liverpool and Brazil. During his six seasons with Liverpool, he has made over 250 appearances, keeping 117 clean sheets and conceding 238 goals. Remarkably, he has even scored a goal for the Reds.

With the recent signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili from Villarreal, Alisson’s future at Liverpool beyond next year appears increasingly uncertain. The addition of the talented goalkeeper raises questions about his role and playing time, leading fans to speculate about his Future.

Barcelona could benefit from a goalkeeper like Alisson Becker, who still has several years of top-level football ahead of him. However, the Blaugrana will likely explore the market for a shot-stopper in the January transfer window if they are unable to secure a free agent following Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s long-term knee injury sustained this past weekend.
