The uncertainty surrounding Mo Salah’s future at Liverpool is enough to give any Red sleepless nights. The Egyptian forms part of Liverpool’s Three Musketeers trio, alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.—whose contracts are set to expire at the end of the season. Should any of them depart, Liverpool would undergo a significant transformation, unlike anything seen in the Klopp Tenure.

Speaking on talkSPORT, former Aston Villa player turned pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has revealed that he’s hearing rumours of the attacker moving to Saudi Arabia.

“I think he’ll end up getting more than [Cristiano] Ronaldo is getting paid over there, he’ll be the face [of the league].”

“I’m hearing it’ll be free transfer and how annoying would that be for Liverpool to lose Salah at 31 on a free transfer.” the pundit carried on, “I can’t say [who told me] but I just think he would have signed a new contract by now and it’s enough money that he can’t turn down over there.”

Liverpool Legend set for Saudi

We know about the crazy money in Saudi but for our legend to earn more than Ronaldo, The offer seems irresistible, Let’s put this into layman’s terms. Salah could possibly earn more than Cristiano Ronaldo’s staggering £3 million-plus-per-week deal. Currently earning £350,000 a week, the expectation is that Liverpool would need to offer around £400,000 per week to secure a new deal. If Salah decides to pursue such an offer, few could fault him for it.

Salah would follow fellow former Reds Sadio Mané, who reportedly earns in excess of £600,000 per week at Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr side, Roberto Firmino (£365,000 per week at Al-Ahli), Gini Wijnaldum (£200,000+ Al-Ettifaq), and Fabinho (£200,000+ per week at Al-Ittihad).

A free transfer would be a worst-case scenario for Liverpool, but it seems the club has already considered this with Salah’s contract nearing expiry. If he leaves, finding a like-for-like replacement would be nearly impossible. But then given that his star is on the wane, it is difficult for us to match any offer that might come in from the Saudi Pro League for Salah. Surely, it makes more sense to splash the big cash on someone like Trent Alexander-Arnold, who can future-proof a first XI spot while still in his prime.
