Although it’s not officially confirmed yet, the possibility of Mo Salah leaving Liverpool at the end of the season is gaining increasing widespread of news.
As Mo Salah’s contract expires in June 2025, when he’ll be 33, it seems like an ideal time for Liverpool to part ways. Offering him a long-term deal at that age might not align with the club’s progressive vision, and offloading his £350,000-per-week wages would be a financial relief. Liverpool are now eyeing Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi as a potential replacement.
Liverpool know the player they want to replace Mo Salah
Losing a player of Salah’s stature would impact Liverpool, but they are already preparing to replace him. According to TeamTalk, the club has identified Karim Adeyemi as the ideal successor.
The 22-year-old Dortmund star, Karim Adeyemi, has been on a remarkable upward trajectory, with an impressive 143 goal contributions in 239 games. Known for his blistering pace and sharp football intelligence, Adeyemi is currently one of the standout players in the Bundesliga, earning approximately £83,000 per week.
The 22-year-old can play across all positions in a front three. While there is room for improvement in his decision-making—evident in last season’s Champions League final against Real Madrid—his youth offers ample opportunity for growth and development.
Borussia Dortmund’s willingness to negotiate suggests a move could be within reach, provided no other big clubs swoop in first.
However, Liverpool’s pursuit of Adeyemi won’t come without competition. Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on the young forward, with PSG manager Luis Enrique said to be an admirer of Adeyemi’s talents. Still, Liverpool’s need to fill the void left by Salah may give them the edge in this race.
