The new era under the head coach Arne Slot has been proven to be a game changer as of now. The Stellar defence combined with a dominant midfield has been a trait displayed in every game. The confidence moving forward as they sit top on the table after six match days is unmatched. While this must be because of the restructured management or implemented tactics, some players have flourished under the Dutchman.

Ryan Gravenberch says Arne Slot’s faith in him has played a part

Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has been on a roll since the 2024/25 season kicked off. While collecting several Man of the Match awards, he has transformed his role in the Liverpool team. Starting every game for Slot, Gravenberch has hardly put a foot wrong this season. Talking about the new head coach and his recent form, the Dutchman told De Volksrant,

“He gave me the chance from the start. I had to focus on a certain position. A bit more defensive. I do my thing and that works out well. That has to do with myself and with the coach. There was clarity from the start. We play as a team, and then the individual also looks better.”

“This season I wanted to show myself again and I am really happy. He put me in the starting 11 and gave me a lot of confidence. I think a team like Liverpool always has to be in the top four.”

This indicated how motivating the arrival of Slot has been for Gravenberch. Not only has he been receiving praise from pundits all over, but his numbers aren’t bad either. Gravenberch, who is currently on a £150,000 per week contract, put up yet another MOTM performance against Wolves on Saturday.

The 22-year-old has been a key player in transitions for Liverpool. He can hold the lines like Fabinho while keeping Thiago Alcantara’s creative intent. If he goes on playing like he is, it will be safe to say Liverpool has found a world-class replacement to hold their lines.

Liverpool’s midfield has flourished under Arne Slot. The system has already started to seem to be intact. With players sharing their positive views on the new head coach, things have looked bright for Slot. Having conceded only two goals in the Premier League, the defence regime cannot be ignored either. Moreover, with over 10 goal contributions between the two wingers Luis Diaz and Mo Salah, Slot seems to be working his magic.
A transparent relationship and faith in the game plans are key to any withholding system. While it might be very early to comment on that, the expressions of players seem to be happy under Slot. The atmosphere certainly has a zeal that inspires hope. With October being more competitive as they face Arsenal and Chelsea, things could get more clarity on Liverpool’s potential under the new head coach.
