Liverpool are riding high after a near-perfect start to the season, winning 9 of their 10 matches across all competitions, with Wolves being the only team to spoil their run. As rumors of cult hero Wataru Endo’s departure solidify, attention now shifts to a rising Scandinavian star.

Daniel Svensson, 22, a versatile Swedish talent currently at Nordsjaelland, has acknowledged Liverpool’s interest and confirmed his intention to leave his current club soon. In August, Football Transfers revealed that the Reds had been keeping a close eye on Svensson, drawing comparisons to Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga due to his playing style.

Svensson is ready for the premier league

The 22-year-old recently gave an interview to Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen in which he acknowledged LFC’s interest and made it clear that, after five seasons in Denmark, he’s ready to move on to a new challenge.

The talented left-back who can also play in the midfield from Nordsjaelland, recently confirmed that Liverpool have been monitoring his performances, stating that the Reds have “watched some matches” he’s featured in.

The versatile Swede, expressed his readiness to take the next step in his career, saying, “I’m absolutely ready” to test himself in one of Europe’s top leagues.

While Svensson remains focused on his current club, he hinted that a move could be on the horizon, noting [via Fotbollskanalen]

“The idea is that I will move on relatively soon… it might happen that I play the whole season and then move on. The most important thing is that I get playing time. It is still a step where I want to take to continue developing. I do that by playing. The most important thing is that I come to a club that has a good plan for me. Which league it is, it doesn’t really matter.”

Daniel Svensson has effectively sent a ‘come and get me’ message to potential suitors, raising the question of whether Liverpool will transition from scouting to registering formal interest in the Nordsjaelland defender.

A move to Anfield would be a significant step up for the 22-year-old, who has yet to play outside Scandinavia aside from a few Conference League appearances.

Like Kostas Tsimikas, Svensson would likely need to wait for his chance behind Andy Robertson. His versatility across defense and midfield could offer Arne Slot a valuable squad option, though the Swede emphasized in his interview with Fotbollskanalen that left-back remains his preferred role.

For Daniel Svensson to realistically break into Liverpool’s line-up, it may require a current player to exit, even if he is brought in as a rotation option similar to Kostas Tsimikas. However, should the Reds’ scouting reports on him be favourable, their reported interest could quickly turn into something more concrete.

What seems clear is that if Liverpool were to make an enticing offer, the Swedish left-back would likely seize the opportunity to make the move to Anfield without hesitation.
