Liverpool are undergoing a bit of a goalkeeping dilemma off late, and Alisson Becker’s injury has added to their woes that have left them light between the posts, and the Reds are looking to resolve that by targeting AS Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar in the upcoming winter transfer window, per Italian outlet AS Roma Live.

The 25-year-old Serbian has been a solid presence for the Rome-based side since joining from SL Benfica in July 2022. While he has not been an undisputed presence between the sticks, he has impressed when given opportunities and has played 43 times for the Italian giants, while conceding 44 goals in the process and keeping 14 clean sheets. The latter number is what gets you on the edge of the seat.

Reds face competition for AS Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar

Liverpool eye Mile Svilar as Alisson replacement

Mile Svilar has been eyed by Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Newcastle United as well, as both clubs are expected to compete for his signatures in the 2025 windows. His current employers, AS Roma, are not pushing to sell the player but rather tie him down to a new long-term contract. That being said, they won’t stand in his way if a €35-40 million offer were to arrive for his signatures. The 25-year-old has also been subject to links with Premier League giants Manchester City as well, which makes Liverpool’s pursuit even more challenging.

The Reds have a tricky goalkeeping situation at the moment. First choice Alisson has been subject to links with a move away from Anfield, and while the Brazilian international does not want to move to the Saudi Pro League, a probable departure is expected for the former AS Roma goalkeeper.
