Liverpool are in the midst of some goalkeeping dilemma with Alisson Becker’s injury as Andre Slot looks to have a sturdy presence in between the sticks at Anfield Stadium. There were reports in the summer suggesting the Reds consider a goalkeeping department overhaul as Slot looks to have a long-term presence with gloves and the 32-year-old Brazilian international is coming into his twilight years.
Alisson has explored some magnificent levels at L4 since moving to Merseyside in a record transfer from AS Roma in July 2018. He has not only been a mainstay for Liverpool but also been one of the better goalkeepers in the modern history of the English top tier.
The 32-year-old has gone on to repeat the Reds for over 250 times in his stint of half a dozen years at Anfield Stadium, where he has kept 119 clean sheets and conceded 239 goals.
No Bayern interest in Alisson
His fantastic record complemented by his stature as one of the best keepers in Europe, Saudi Pro League sides established players interest in landing the 32-year-old former AS Roma goalie. They are ready to hike Alisson’s £150,000 a week pay tremendously.
Reportedly, the Brazilian also has an opportunity to join Bayern Munich if he wises to continue among the European elites, as Vincent Kompany is eager to land his services. However, reputed journalist Florian Plettenberg insists that the reports suggesting a move to Bayern are wide of mark. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, he wrote:
With reports of Bayern wide of mark, there is a possibility that he may move to the Saudi Pro League.
