Liverpool have barely made any signings since Arne Slot took over the reigns at Anfield Stadium, and the Dutch coach will now be looking to put his own stamp on the side after using Jurgen Klopp’s inherited side for his first campaign in charge at the Premier League heavyweights. However, he is looking to lay his blueprint before the upcoming 2025 windows to bring in players that suit his playing style, and that means a few of the current squad will need to be replaced.

While the likes of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander Arnold, and Virgil Van Dijk are out of their contract at Anfield Stadium at the end of the ongoing campaign, and that reciprocates for a need to be ready with potential replacements if the chiefs at Kikrby aren’t able to agree on contract terms with any of them. However, beyond the aforementioned three, the left-back role also looks to be a problem, as Andy Robertson is apparently slowing down after road running the length of the left flank for years donning the Reds badge.

Liverpool to eye Ait-Nouri for left-back future?

PSG join Liverpool in the race to land Wolves star Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Liverpool urged to make a move for Rayan Ait-Nouri.

The Merseyside Reds are looking at a long-term successor to the Scot at the AXA training centre, and Paul Gorst thinks that Wolves full-back Rayan Ait-Nouri may ultimately end up donning the Liverpool badge owing to his abilities and exemplary performances for the Wanderers.

There have been links that insisted that the club is looking at possibilities at bringing the 23-year-old to Anfield, and Gorst thinks that it would be ideal for Liverpool to do so and the fact that he would fit a long-term fit at L4.

Speaking on the Blood Red Podcast, Gorst said:

“I think Ait-Nouri might be the one Liverpool are looking at in terms of their long-term left-back plans, I’ve not had that communicated to me, but he’s 22, he’s fairly young. It seems like Wolves are a good breeding ground to see how a player performs in the Premier League.”

It will be a difficult coup for the Reds to sign the 23-year-old, who has also been subject to likes with Arsenal and Manchester City. However, the fact that both the Premier League rivals have their left-back priorities sorted at the moment gives Liverpool a leeway in a bid to land the Algerian international.
