TNT Sports revealed how Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has already outshined some of the legendary managers in football history. Liverpool defeated Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 at Anfield in the Champions League’s fourth game of the season to maintain winning consistency.

The Reds have won 14 out of 16 games in all competitions, drawing one and losing one despite the transition. Liverpool appointed Slot as the successor to their long-serving and beloved legendary manager Jurgen Klopp after his departure last summer.

The recent football history dictates that changing a long-serving manager is a daunting task with a high probability of failure. Manchester United are still suffering after more than a decade since Sir Alex Ferguson opted to retire as their manager.

Furthermore, Arsenal suffered the same fate after Arsene Wenger retired from his role there despite their fans demanding the change. However, Liverpool learnt from other’s mistakes and changed the hierarchy before appointing a successor with patience and thorough market assessment.

According to Football on TNT Sports, Slot has registered the most wins (14) by a new Premier League manager after supervising 16 games in all competitions. Slot surpassed Premier League legends Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti (13 wins each with Chelsea in 2004 and 2009 respectively).

While Slot uses a different tactical style as opposed to Klopp, he has worked under the same philosophy and culture. Slot accepted the squad he inherited and unlike other managers, he subtly implemented his idea instead of stomping his identity.

That humble action from Slot helped him gain the adoration of the fans and players while gradually implementing his ideas. Liverpool are far from their best under the Dutchman and despite their success, they are still under the transition period.

However, the Reds winning the games without reaching their very best is a positive sign as every title-winning side grinds results irrespective of their predicament.
