Liverpool, riding high on a brilliant start to the season and dreaming of their first treble in the 21st century, are proving their worth under Arne Slot’s transformative system. The synchronization within the team has fans optimistic about what lies ahead.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have reignited their pursuit of Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi. Despite the Spaniard rejecting a summer move to Anfield to stay at his boyhood club, Fabrizio Romano reports that the Reds are closely monitoring the midfielder. Arne Slot remains a firm admirer of Zubimendi and views him as a potential addition in future transfer windows.

Journalist reveals fresh Liverpool transfer update on Martin Zubimendi.

Real Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil successfully persuaded Martin Zubimendi to remain in San Sebastian during the summer, despite Liverpool’s strong interest. The midfielder, with three years left on his contract, committed to staying for at least another six months.

Zubimendi later expressed having “zero regrets” about turning down a move to Anfield, even as Real Sociedad endure a challenging season. The Spanish side currently sit eighth in La Liga after 13 matches, with the 25-year-old starting 12 games and contributing to three goals.

The saga will keep on dragging

Liverpool seem to have discovered a homegrown solution for the defensive midfield role they initially earmarked for Zubimendi. Ryan Gravenberch has thrived under Arne Slot, becoming an integral part of the team’s success this season.

The Dutch midfielder has played a crucial role in Liverpool’s impressive form, helping them secure the top spot in both the Premier League and Champions League standings. His defensive contributions have been pivotal, providing excellent protection for Liverpool’s back four, who boast the league’s best defensive record, conceding just six goals in 11 matches.

The Journalist remarked, on his daily briefing

“What I wanted to tell you is that Liverpool, on a constant basis, are still monitoring Martin Zubimendi.

“It’s also true that there are two managers who are big fans of Zubimendi, apart from Liverpool, Arne Slot, what they already did last summer, and they remain interested in the player, and they keep monitoring the player.”

With just one loss across all competitions, Arne Slot will be eager for Liverpool to maintain their form when they resume action on 23 November against Southampton. If Slot can strike the right balance in midfield—potentially pairing Zubimendi and Gravenberch in a double pivot with Mac Allister given the freedom to roam—the Reds could dominate the league, wrapping it up well before the season’s end.
