Trent Alexander-Arnold started in England’s 1-0 win over Switzerland and the Liverpool youngster did a fairly decent job for the Three Lions.
The 19-year-old has started all our games this season and is known more for his attacking output than his defensive work.
Although the youngster hasn’t recorded an assist or goal this campaign, there is no doubt he will contribute to the scoring sooner rather than later.
However, Gary Neville and Martin Tyler seemed to forget that Trent is decent on the ball and his game isn’t all about defending.
Sam Maguire quoted the pair as saying that Trent likes defending and his hero is Jamie Carragher.

Of course, some of the fans weren’t going to let this pass as Trent has a few games under his belt as a midfielder too.
Some fans took to Twitter as they had a go at the commentators and here are a few reactions from the site.
Honestly think they confused TAA with Gomez

It’s ridiculous! Can’t believe what I’m hearing. TAA is clearly very talented/creative.

Have Neville and Tyler ever watched Trent play

They have to pretend tho

I said exactly this to my brother before. That part of the commentary was embarrassing. Imagine thinking he isn’t comfortable when attacking.

Gary Neville chatting his usual shite. Saying Trent prefers staying back and defending than getting forward. Does the guy even watch football ffs, not to mention Trent was a RM at youth level.

What nonsense they spouting?
— Morsy (@ChrisMors1) September 11, 2018
Were they saying he’s limited on the ball? I switched off a bit.
