Liverpool are reportedly ready to make a move for Fulham’s teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon in the summer. The Reds have been heavily linked with the 16-year old prodigy for some time now and a move looks possible in the summer.

Liverpool entered the season with Alberto Moreno as the only natural left-back and have played the versatile James Milner in that position for almost the entire season. Milner has been quite solid for Liverpool and somehow, Klopp has papered the crack there.

But the Reds’ defensive record speaks for itself as they have conceded the most number of goals among the top-6 in the league table. This has raised questions over Liverpool’s defence and has also seen them get linked with a lot of defenders, with Sessegnon being one of them.

Sessegnon has played 29 games this season and has scored 7 goals and 4 assists in what has been a brilliant breakthrough season for him. He has played 20 of those games as a left-back and has 4 goals and 4 assists from that position. The numbers are astonishing considering the boy’s age and without a doubt, he will be a top-class player sooner than later.

Even though he cannot be slotted into the first team straight away, he can be used as an understudy to James Milner and Alberto Moreno (if he remains at the club). A couple of seasons later, he would surely have become an outstanding player.

Liverpool were also earlier linked with an £8million move for Hull City left-back Andrew Robertson. It looks like the Reds are desperately chasing quality left-backs who can play for the first-team either immediately or in the future.

It would be really important for Klopp to sign a left-back as it would be impossible for Liverpool to carry on with the same squad. Additions would be needed as there is a good chance of Champions League qualification. If that happens, then it would not be possible for the Anfield outfit to shy away from the transfer market.

A move for Ryan Sessegnon seems to be a wise option and we’ll have to wait and see if Liverpool execute it.
