Lyon seem to be doing everything in their power to keep hold of Nabil Fekir as they tweeted that the club would present him with the World Cup trophy on 12th August to celebrate the success of the France team.
Fekir was close to joining Liverpool before the World Cup but the deal fell through when the medical was being conducted. The Reds have been linked with a move for the Frenchman again but the tweet from the official Lyon club was translated and it said:
“Nabil Fekir will be presented with the World Cup trophy for his return to @GroupamaStadium on Sunday 12 August for the first day of the Ligue 1 and the reception of Amiens at 15h!”

While the last bit of the tweet speaks about the timing of the presentation, this will come as a blow to our hopes of signing the 25-year-old who had a tremendous season for the Ligue 1 club.
Fekir was not a starter for the France national side at the World Cup but he did look decent in the cameos. Liverpool have strengthened almost every position of problem, especially in goal, with Alisson coming in. However, having a quality No.10 could have been the icing on the cake as we look to win a trophy under Klopp.
It will be an exciting season with all the buzz and if start the season with a bang, no one will be asking for Fekir or another attacking midfielder.
