Liverpool are interested in moving for Mateo Kovacic of Real Madrid and are willing to give him a starring role in the side, according to Marca.
The 24-year-old helped Croatia make it to the World Cup final where they lost to France and the midfielder is willing to leave Real.
Kovacic is behind the likes of Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric, and Real will let him leave the side. But they have slapped a price-tag of €50million.
The midfielder had earlier stated that he would not mind moving away from Madrid since he doesn’t get regular playing time at the club.
The report also adds that there is a lot of interest in the 24-year-old from Manchester United and Manchester City too.
Kovacic’s stock has certainly risen, as even Bayern Munich and Juventus are looking to snap him up. While the midfielder certainly would be a quality addition to the side, Jurgen Klopp had hinted that there would not be any new signings after we bought Alisson from AS Roma.
The midfield is already packed at the moment with new signings Fabinho and Naby Keita, however, we are still short of an attacking midfielder and if Kovacic is willing to play that role, we should move for the 24-year-old.
There might be a few who might baulk at the €50million price tag for the 24-year-old but he is quality and can develop into a fantastic player for our side under Klopp.

The transfer market is inflated but if we are looking to sign a Real Madrid player who helped his national side to the World Cup final, then we will have to pay mega bucks.
