Georginio Wijnaldum has been one of the best players at Liverpool this season. The former Newcastle star started in all of our Premier League games, barring one.
The 27-year-old is possibly the most improved player from last season, and the Dutch midfielder claimed he has grown during his time at the club.
Wijnaldum was quoted by the Daily Star as saying that he has a great relationship with the manager and that Jurgen Klopp has helped the Dutchman a lot.
The midfielder added that Klopp can be tough but it is “always in the right way, always for the right reasons. It’s not to make you feel bad or anything like that.”
The Dutch midfielder further spoke about how Klopp deals with mistakes on the pitch.
“He’s really hard but, on the other side, he keeps your confidence high. He says that mistakes are just part of football.
“I remember against Leicester I made a mistake and it led to a goal. He wasn’t angry about the mistake, he was more angry about my reaction afterwards.”
Wijnaldum has played in a different position this season and claimed that learning new positions has helped him become a more “rounded” midfielder.
“I think I’ve shown I have the defensive discipline to play deep as the No.6 and start the build ups with my passing.
“I can also play higher up the pitch and make a difference in the opposition area. Being able to do both has helped me to play so many games.”

The Dutchman has always worked hard on the pitch but this season, his work is finally being noticed. Hopefully, he can continue putting in stellar performances for the remainder of the campaign.
