Latest Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp confirms Trent Alexander-Arnold took part in full training ahead of Tottenham tie

Liverpool have been handed a major boost for the weekend’s game against Tottenham with Trent Alexander-Arnold participating in full training.

Jurgen Klopp spoke during the pre-match press conference and confirmed that Xherdan Shaqiri and Joe Gomez also took part in training as they continued their returns from injury.

Gomez’s return is important for the remainder of the campaign as the English defender was brilliant alongside Virgil van Dijk at the start of the season.

Trent’s return is important for Liverpool

The right-back carried a knock when he joined the England squad during the international break. The youngster was sent back to recover from his problem.

Alexander-Arnold participating in full training could see him face Tottenham at the weekend, which would be great for the Reds.

The English right-back is one of the best crossers of the ball in the team. His deliveries from the wide positions and from dead-ball situations provide us with another dimension in the attack.

Replacing him with James Milner or even Jordan Henderson would reduce our output in the final third, and hopefully, the right-back starts for us on Sunday.

Tottenham will not be an easy team to face, even though they have been in poor Premier League form recently.
