Latest Liverpool news: Sadio Mane looks ready for Tottenham challenge

Liverpool prepared for their important Premier League clash against Tottenham on Sunday.

The Reds know that Manchester City could leapfrog them with a win against Fulham on Saturday.

Liverpool cannot afford any slip-ups in the title race and Spurs won’t be easy opposition, even though our visitors have a poor record at Anfield.

The Reds will have one player firing on all cylinders, Sadio Mane. The Senegal international has led our challenge in the Champions League and Premier League since the turn of the year and seemed to be in the mood in training too.

Mane has scored 10 goals in his last 10 games and should start alongside Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian is on a barren run at the moment with no goals in his last seven games, however, he has looked good in certain outings.

The third from our attacking force, Roberto Firmino, also needs to be at his best for the remainder of the campaign.

Major boost for the defence

Our title challenge has been dependent on a tight defence and the Reds were provided with a major boost with Joe Gomez returning to training.

This game might come a little early for Gomez to start and we should see Joel Matip continue at the back partnering Virgil van Dijk.

Trent Alexander-Arnold also took part in training and should be in line to start as our right-back on Sunday. The English defender pulled out of the national camp during the international break due to a minor problem.

Jurgen Klopp has done a brilliant job thus far and we need to end the season by winning almost every game.
