Liverpool FC transfer news: Liverpool interested in Spain’s U21 star Dani Olmo

Spanish outlet AS (h/t Liverpool Echo) reports that Liverpool are interested in Dani Olmo of Dinamo Zagreb.

The Spanish U21 striker scored three goals and provided an assist from four Euro games in the summer.

Olmo also scored in the 2-1 win over Germany in the final, and the report claims that several top clubs are monitoring the 21-year-old.

The youngster started his career at Barcelona before making the move to Zagreb and was the man of the match against Germany.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, PSG, Manchester United and the two Milan giants are all interested in the 21-year-old (h/t Liverpool Echo).

United bid for the young striker

The report adds that Manchester United have bid £40m for the 21-year-old, and are seen as the front-runners for his signature.

The 21-year-old is comfortable playing out wide too, and scored 12 goals from 44 games for Zagreb last season.

The youngster has risen in prominence at Zagreb, and it will be interesting to see if he is on the move in the summer.

Liverpool have a couple of quality young strikers in Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster, but we can always do with cover for our wide men.

The price point seems to be high given that we could sign players from a top division for that amount and hopefully, our spending in the summer isn’t limited to just Sepp van den Berg.
