Midfielders – Lucas Leiva, Emre Can, James Milner, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino

Jurgen Klopp

Lucas is a leader for Liverpool and his presence is important for Liverpool. He should hold together Liverpool’s midfield against Arsenal and he will have to limit the space for Arsenal’s main man, Mesut Ozil. Emre Can is also a leader for Liverpool and he has bossed Liverpool’s midfield in some games. His attacking contributions are questionable, but still he has done a great job in the midfield and he is expected to start against Arsenal. Last week, we saw James Milner returning from injury when he came on as a substitute in Liverpool’s Capital One Cup match against Stoke.

James Milner is expected to start for Liverpool against Arsenal and his experience would be key for the Reds. Adam Lallana is in good condition and even though he has not been able to provide much goals or assists his presence has been important for Liverpool. If he starts to bring in goals and assists he will become a key player for Liverpool. Roberto Firmino is slowly hitting his full form and he has been good in the recent games. He was rested against Exeter and he will be fresh to face Arsenal. Firmino should step up in Coutinho’s absence.

Striker – Christian Benteke

Christian Benteke is one of those senior players who struggled very much against Exeter while the Liverpool youngster showed passion and fought hard. He was Liverpool’s captain against Exeter, but he did not contribute much to the game. He will have to step up if he wants to keep his position at Liverpool. Benteke has scored most of his goals in his career in the second half of seasons and he will have to take this stat as a confidence booster and work on it.
