Midfielders – Emre Can, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Adam Lallana, Jordon Ibe.
The trio of Can, Henderson and Milner has looked good in Liverpool’s midfield. Can has been solid overall and he has been very good defensively. Henderson’s return from injury has given a huge boost for Liverpool and their midfield has looked much better with him, meanwhile James Milner is slowly finding his form with Liverpool.
For former Man City midfielder never stops running and his work rate gives the team an extra boost. We expect Liverpool to bench Lucas Leiva. Instead Liverpool will be playing Can, Henderson and Milner in the central midfield.
Adam Lallana still has not been able to bring goals and assists to his game, but it looks like Klopp really loves him. Lallana is very fit and like Milner, he also never stops running. His defensive contributions and pressing are key for Liverpool. Jordon Ibe was having a bad time recently but he looked good against Exeter on Wednesday as he got on the assist sheet for Ojo’s goal. Ibe was subbed off in the second which hints that he will have a part to play on Saturday.
Striker – Roberto Firmino
Despite doing well to assist Joao Teixeira on Wednesday, Benteke still looks short of confidence. Benteke had some good moments against Exeter but his positioning and finishing was questionable. Firmino on the other hand is slowly hitting his full form. The Brazilian looks better as the false 9 and he has contributed more in the recent matches. We expect Firmino to continue as Liverpool’s striker and Benteke to come on a substitute.
