5. Luis Garcia chant:
The Spanish winger arrived from Atletico Madrid under Rafa Benitez and instantly became a fan favourite. He has scored brilliant and most important goals against the likes of Chelsea and Juventus.
The chant is based on the song ‘You are my sunshine’ and it goes like this ;
” Luis Garcia
He drinks sangria
He comes from Barca
To bring us glory
He’s five foot seven
He’s football heaven
So please don’t take our Luis away”
4. Luis Suarez chant:
The Uruguayan is one of the best players to wear the red of Liverpool. He meant a lot to Liverpool and Liverpool meant a lot to him.
It is sung to the tune of ‘ Just can’t get enough’ and it goes like this:
“His name is Suarez and he wears the famous red,
I just can’t get enough, I just can’t get enough,
When he scores a volley or when he scores a head,
I just can’t get enough, I just can’t get enough,
He scores a goal and the Kop go wild,
And I just can’t seem to get enough,
Suarez!”
3. Fields of Anfield road :
One of the classics in Liverpool history. It is being used still now and is one of the Kop favorites.
“All round the fields of Anfield road,
Where once we watched King Kenny play,
Steve Highway was on the wing,
We had dreams and songs to sing,
Of the glory round the fields of Anfield road”
2. Steven Gerrard chant :
Arguably the best player ever to play for Liverpool, Gerrard gave his all in his career at the club. He was Mr. Liverpool and the leader which inspired many.
“Steven Gerrard, Gerrard,
He’ll pass the ball 40 yards,
He’s big and he’s fu***ng hard,
Steven Gerrard, Gerrard”
1. Poor Scouser Tommy:
This song tells the story of a young boy who is sent out to fight for his country in the World War 2. His final words on his death bed shows how much Liverpool means to him and this chant captures the feeling between the supporters and the Club.
” Can I tell you the story of a poor boy,
Who was sent far away from his home,
To fight for his King and his country,
And also the old folks back home,
Now they put him in a highland division,
Sent him off to a far foreign land,
Where the flies flew around in thousands,
And there was nothing to see but sand,
Now the battle it started the next day,
Underneath the old lybian sun
I remember the poor Scouser Tommy,
Who was shot by an old Nazi gun,
As he lay on the battlefield dying( dying, dying)
With the blood gushing out of his head ( his head, his head)
As he lay on the battlefield dying,
These were the last words he said,
Oooh I am a Liverpudlian
And I come from the Spion Kop
I love to sing, I love to shout
I get kicked out quite a lot!
We support a team that’s dressed in red,
It’s a team that you all know
It’s a team that we call Liverpool, and to glory we will go!
We won the league, we won the cup, we’ve been to Europe too.
We played the Toffees for a laugh and left them feeling blue!”
