Leandro Paredes: Scout Report

Liverpool have no action this weekend due to the international break and this window brings along transfer rumors. The latest one being a link with the Argentine midfielder from Roma – Leandro Paredes. Jurgen Klopp is looking for a makeover of his team for the upcoming season and his scouts are on the hunt for talents from across the globe. Klopp’s focus is to build a young energetic team and for that he needs to fill in a lot of positions with talented prodigies.
In this season Liverpool have struggled with a lot of injuries and the absence of world class players is clearly seen. Jurgen Klopp is certainly aware of this fact and he is looking to strengthen his squad with quality players. One such player is the Argentinian Leandro Paredes from Roma.

Who is Leandro Paredes?

Leandro Daniel Paredes is an Argentine footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder. He made his professional football debut with Boca Juniors in 2010 and in 2014 he made a move to Roma. Paredes is at a loan spell at Empoli and has shown impressive performances in the midfield and also with his attacking abilities. Paredes made his debut for Roma in 2014 but could not manage to make many appearances for the Italian giants. Roma then offloaded him to Empoli so that he could get a first team experience and more number of starts.

His Gameplay

He is a technically gifted player who is good at set-pieces and has good long ranged passing vision. The Argentine has decent ball control and dribbling skills but playmaking from deep and shooting outside from the box are his main traits.

The Rumours

Italian media Gazzetta Dello Sport quoted reports of Roma going through tough financial times and they are in dire need to sell off many players to balance their trades and Liverpool are the favorites to seal his signature. However, there was no report on the official numbers for Paredes but a summer transfer move looks very likely. Jurgen Klopp has made no official comments about the possibility of this move but the Italian press seems pretty confident about this deal.  Roma are certainly looking to cash on him and are open to transfer negotiations. If Liverpool quote a decent price tag, this deal might just turn in favor of the reds who are looking to strengthen their attacking options.
