Liverpool vs Tottenham Combined XI
It’s the clash of the most successful club in England versus the title chasers this season. Liverpool vs Spurs has never been this important in the recent history of the clubs than the clash tomorrow at Anfield.
It’s must win game for both the sides, with Liverpool intent on keeping the pressure on the sides above them while Spurs are keen to topple Leicester from the top. Klopp’s men have to be at their best if they want a result at Anfield, which the faithful fondly called as the Shrine.
Both sides have talented players in their sides but Spurs have an upper hand because of their English side. Let’s take a look the combined lineup for both the sides. The combined team will play in a 4-2-3-1 system :
Goalkeeper : Hugo Lloris
The Frenchman has been in fine form this campaign and the Spurs captain is miles ahead of the Red’s no.1 Simon Mignolet.
Right back : Nathaniel Clyne
Clyne offers more in the game than Kyle Walker and is defensively more astute than Clyne. He will be the starter for England at the Euros too.
Centre Back : Tony Alderweireld
The new signing has settled well in London and is looking like a settled defender. He and Vertonghen have formed a solid pair and the duo have played together since childhood.
Centre Back : Mamadou Sakho
Though the Frenchman is unconventional in his style of play, he is a reliable defender and is the best defender available at the club.
Left back : Danny Rose
The young Englishman has been in scintillating touch this season and has transformed into a seasoned player under Mauricio Pochettino. Definitely better than both Jon Flanagan and Alberto Moreno.
Defensive midfielder : Eric Dier
The former Sporting Lisbon man has been one of the best Spurs player this campaign. He has been the catalyst along with Kane and Alli to challenge for the title.
Centre Midfield : Emre Can
The young German has been the revelation under Klopp and his proving to his hype when he signed for the Club. He gets the nod ahead of Dembele to partner Dier in the midfield.
Right wing : Adam Lallana
The 26-year-old has transformed into a far better player under Jurgen Klopp. The Englishman is the PFA player of the month for March and deservedly so and a far better player to play in the team than Eric Lamela.
No. 10 : Dele Alli
The youngster has been the best young player this season and the reds will rue that they lost a chance to sign the former MK Dons player. He will be a key player for Hodgson’s team and is a definite starter.
Left wing : Philippe Coutinho
The Brazilian has such natural ability that is not found such easily. He is the standout player for the reds and is one of the star performers for Liverpool.
Striker : Harry Kane
The best player in the League without a doubt. Kane has scored 55 goals in two seasons and is the main reason behind Spurs resurgence. He gets the nod ahead of Daniel Sturridge and the exploits of the Englishman is needed for any team in Europe.
