Last night was a surreal, mind numbing experience for all the people related to Liverpool Football Club. Klopp’s men achieved a feat that looked impossible and showed why Jurgen Klopp was the best thing that happened to Liverpool in a long long time. The reds beat Dortmund 4-3 with a Dejan Lovren last gasp winner which sent the fans into delirium.
The focus now shifts onto the Premier League where Liverpool face a resurgent Bournemouth side on Sunday. Eddie Howe has done a tremendous job for the cherries and has saved them from relegation against all odds. Liverpool need not to be complacent and with keeping the Europa League as the main priority should aim for a league finish as high as possible.
Bournemouth have a long list of injuries with Harry Arter, Benik Afobe and Callum Wilson the notable absentees. Reds will be without Henderson and Emre Can who suffered an ankle injury yesterday. Christian Benteke is still out and is expected back in the next week. So let’s take a look at the possible lineup for the trip to the Vitality stadium :
Goalkeeper : Simon Mignolet
The Belgian will play all the matches if he stays fit and will look to impress the boss as a new gk is expected in the summer.
Right back : Jon Flanagan
Clyne deserves a break and his service needs to be saved for the big Derby in the weekend.
Centre back : Martin Skrtel
It seems Dejan Lovren will also be rested for the Everton game and the Slovakian has to be at his best if he has to dislodge the much-loved pair of Lovren and Sakho.
Centre back : Mamadou Sakho
After scoring the all-important third goal, the Frenchman will look to keep a clean sheet against the cherries.
Left back : Alberto Moreno
Moreno has improved of late but can do better defensively and will look to stop the threat from Matt Ritchie.
Centre Midfield : Lucas Leiva
James Milner will also get a much-needed break so the captain will be fresh for the Derby.
Centre midfield : Joe Allen
Allen has been pretty impressive under Klopp and finally deserves a chance to impress the boss from the start.
Left wing : Sheyi Ojo
Ojo provided a stunning assist against Stoke and will look to garner more minutes to give Coutinho some break.
Attacking midfield : Roberto Firmino
Was taken off half an hour before to keep him ready for the clash against Howe’s men. Great chance to continue his rich goalscoring form.
Right wing : Adam Lallana
He was also substituted half an hour before and will be a menace for the Bournemouth defense.
Striker : Daniel Sturridge
His substitution yesterday changed the game and his smart move in the final goal was worth praising. Will look to add to his goal tally against the cherries.
