The season has ended and it is now time to analyze the report cards of all players. One happy student in the Liverpool squad will be Adam Lallana. This season was his best with Liverpool so far as he has shown why he was brought in for a heavy sum two seasons ago. After the arrival of Jurgen Klopp, there has been a sharp increase in the performance curve of the English winger. Lallana established himself in the current squad and is a vital part of the attacking trio of LFC – Lallana, Firmino and Coutinho. He has also shown maturity in important fixtures and has been better with his shooting since his arrival to Anfield. Here we look his performance this season.
A positive report card-
Jurgen Klopp will be very happy with the way Lallana has improved this season. He has certainly improved a lot as compared to the last season. Lallana featured in 30 out of the 38 games in the league this season and the statistics have been in his favor this season. If we look at the successful passes, there has been a significant rise as compared to last season. Lallana has also reached the double figures in assists this season, which is better than the last one and this goes to show his contribution in the attacks of Liverpool. Also if we look at the number of chances created by Lallana, the numbers have improved this year. This clearly reflects his style of play as he loves to play layoffs and do the quick short passes. However, the notable thing here is his defensive abilities. He has made 20 successful interceptions this season in the premiere league and this makes him a key asset for the team.
A future beckons-
This summer transfer window will be very crucial as Klopp will look to make a few additions and subtractions from his current side. A lot of players have already been linked with a summer move and there are a few who are expected to leave. One player who is less probable to leave though is Adam Lallana. He fits well in Klopp’s tactics and has become a regular winger for the Reds. With the manager looking to bring in the likes of Gotze, Lallana will hold his place in the Liverpool line-up. If needed, he might be played at a different position or might be rotated but he should be staying with the club.
