Lorient’s Raphael Guerreiro has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the recent weeks and now the Reds seem to have received a major blow in their chase for the defender.

According to L’Equipe, the defender has agreed personal terms with the German club Borussia Dortmund and an upward of £12 million move is in the making. Earlier a bid of the same amount had been rejected by Lorient and the club president Alex Hayes claimed that Liverpool were one of the four clubs that had bid for the player. Arsenal and Barcelona are also said to be interested in signing the player and since Guerreiro is about to enter his final year of contract it is very well possible that Lorient is attempting to start a bidding war.

Guerreiro has been shortlisted to give competition to Alberto Moreno, who has failed to live up to the expectation at Anfield.
