Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is one the verge of completing a £5m move to Turkish club Fenerbahce. After his eight year career at Anfield a fee has been agreed between the clubs and the move will take place shortly.
The Slovakian held meeting with Jurgen Klopp towards the end of last season and was told that his opportunities will be limited next season. He also ended up losing his starting spot to Kolo Toure who has already left the club. In addition Joel Matip has been signed from Schalke and will be part of the defense structure that also includes the likes of Dejan Lovren, Mamodou Sakho and Joe Gomez. There is an expectation that another defender could be added to the mix to increase competitiveness within the team. This has further dwindled Skrtel’s chance of first team football.
The 31 year old is currently at Euro 2016 but after that only the medical is pending for Martin Skrtel to make him a Fenerbahce player.
