The Merseyside club, who lost to Sevilla in the UEFA Europa League will not be participating in any of the European’s elite competition, and therefore, Klopp will have all the time on earth to concentrate in the League. It is expected that the manager will be looking to add more personnel to the squad and recently, media houses from Europe are reporting that Jurgen Klopp is currently after PSG’s star midfielder Lucas Moura.

The 23-year-old has been instrumental for the French champions since his arrival at the Parc des Princes. The Brazilian international was regularly touted as a desperate target for Manchester United, but Moura decided to move to France. Now, media have linked Liverpool to Lucas Moura, but the Brazilian himself revealed that there has been no contact between him and the club. He said:

“I know nothing, I’m only aware of what’s been on internet by the press,” Moura told Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte.

“There were no contacts with me, it’s only speculation.”

Well, to be perfectly honest, Liverpool do not really need Moura now. It is very clear that Liverpool’s current squad is studded with some stellar names and almost every one of them are desperately looking for an opportunity in the first team. Besides that, Liverpool have signed Sadio Mane, who has a great speed and also is a tireless worker, so signing Moura doesn’t really make sense.

With no Champions League games to play for next season, the Merseyside club will be playing limited games and squad rotation will be a rare sight. Though Lucas does have his pros, there is no real space in the midfield for the Brazilian.

Lucas is a versatile player no doubt, but his national teammates are already doing wonders at the same position. Philippe Coutinho is unarguably Liverpool’s most prized possession; there is no way that he will be replaced. Besides him, Firmino is just gaining a momentum under Klopp and dropping him would be a huge risk. Then on the right flank, Mane will be charging the opponents with his pace.

So it is safe to say that Moura will be often used as a substitute or as a backup plan if any injury occurs. Lucas, 23, is known for his speed, his agility and being a South American breed, he has those tricky legs, which can easily haunt the defenders, but talking practically, Liverpool is not the place for him.

Besides all of it, Lucas made 36 appearances for PSG last season (in Ligue 1) and scored 9 goals, so it is safe to say that the Brazilian is enjoying his time at Paris. PSG recently signed Ben Arfa and many believe that his future might come in doubt, but as we stated earlier, the Brazilian can operate the game from anywhere in the attacking line, so that’s surely not the thing to worry.
