With successful results in recent weeks in their pre-season friendlies, the Merseyside club Liverpool will be looking forward to the upcoming campaign of the Premier League. Their manager Jürgen Klopp has been doing a great job since the arrival and even the team is looking all confident now.

Well, it is hard to predict that who will end up their campaign in the top four next season, but it is sure that almost 8-9 teams will be challenging for the spots and therefore, the manager will have to work on every department to get the best result. The 49-year-old German has done a great job so far in terms of transfers, but it is understood that he is still looking to add steel in the midfield.

Many top names have been channeled with the Anfield club in the recent times, but nothing has been concluded yet. Klopp has so far concluded 3 signings in the summer, but the team still needs to add at least a tough central midfielder and a left back to give Moreno a run for his money. Talking about the central area, according to the Express, Liverpool manager is currently scouting the 20-year-old Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud. The player in a recent interview has stated that he is only focused on Gladbach, but Klopp is still trying to lure the player into the squad.

On the other hand, few reports from England have registered that the Merseyside club is also looking out to sign the 19-year-old Ruben Neves from the Portuguese side FC Porto. Liverpool, who were heavily linked with the player in the last January window were told to pay at least €40m to hunt down the player. But now, the reports are saying that the asking price has been cut to half due to financial fair play regulations and if that is the case, it is a great advantage for the club.

But now, the questions will be raised that who amongst both will be the perfect signing for the club? Here, we will make it easy for you:

First talking about Dahoud, the Syrian-born German international made his debut for Gladbach back in 2014 in a Europa League tie and went on to make just two more appearances that season. With a new manager coming at the club in the following season, Dahoud found a stable footing at the club and went on to make 41 appearances for the German team in all competition.

Secondly, Ruben Neves made his debut for Porto at the age of 17. In October 2015, he became the youngest captain of the side at the age of 18, and since then, he has been grabbing all the headlines in Portugal.

When comparing both the player, it is Dahoud, who comes out as a winner in term of goals, but when talking about the overall performance, we personally think that Neves is the better option than the German by far. There is no doubt that Dahoud is one of the most promising young figures in the sport, but we cannot deny the contribution of Ruben either.

Dahoud has been doing wonders, yet he is criticized for the lack of his maturity and looking at the current Liverpool squad, they need a player, who could perform his duties alongside Can with confidence. Yes, Dahoud have confidence in his veins, but sometimes he looks dizzy when crowded out and at that moment of time, he fails to choose the correct option and that puts his team in trouble. The 20-year-old is also not the strongest personnel in the industry and that could haunt Klopp for a long time.

Ruben, on the other hand, has been serving his side with full enthusiasm and it is fair to say that he could easily become the captain figure in the side. Since the departure of Steven Gerrard, the side has been heavily missing a captain figure and if not in the present, Neves can be a long-term solution for the club.

With that being said, we honestly feel that if Liverpool wants to make a choice amongst both of them, then it should be the 19-year-old Portuguese international, Ruben Neves.
