3 Liverpool Stars Who Would Look To Pull Up Their Socks Next Season: Featuring Two English Stars

Liverpool have made quite a few changes this season and we can expect Klopp to make some tactical changes for the coming season. Also, the existing players will face some competition with the new arrivals to maintain their place in the starting lineup. With the arrival of Mane, Wijnaldum and Grujic, the midfield looks a lot more dynamic and competitive. There have been speculations that Jurgen Klopp might prefer going with the 4-3-3 for the coming season. Considering all this here are the three players that we think will need to pull up their socks for the next season.

Roberto Firmino

No Firmino for the game

A lot was expected when Brendan Rodgers brought the Brazilian to Anfield and he did manage to deliver in his first season with the new club. His performances in the second half of the season were much better as compared to the first half. However, this season will be a different ballgame for the Brazilian as he has tough competition in attacking midfield from the likes of Ings, Mane, and Lallana. Also, if Klopp decides to play him in the attack, he will have to compete with Origi, and Sturridge upfront. Firmino will have to show a lot of consistency if he wants to maintain his place in the starting line-up.

Adam Lallana

Last season, the LFC trio of Lallana, Firmino and Coutinho was working really well for the Reds. They had developed a wonderful attacking chemistry in the 4-2-3-1. However, last season Liverpool did not really have a quality right wing option to play ahead of Lallana and things have changed now. The Reds have the services of Mane who is a natural right winger and Lallana will have a tough competition holding his place in the starting lineup. He might be asked by Klopp to play in the midfield area rather than in the attacking front.

Jordan Henderson

Jordan Henderson

The Liverpool skipper was under some scrutiny last season due to his inconsistency and lack of leadership. Ever since the departure of Gerrard, the Reds have missed a natural leader in their squad. Also, Emre Can has developed as a tremendous prospect and a potential leader of the future squad. If Henderson does not manage to get his form back or be consistent, he might be under the threat to lose his place in the starting               11 against the likes of Can, Wijnaldum or Grujic. The skipper will need to pull up his socks and improve his game.
