Why Signing This Speed Merchant Will Be The Icing On The Cake For Liverpool

As soon as the season ended, Jurgen Klopp knew that he had a lot to do in the transfer window and the German has done well so far. Liverpool have completed 6 new signings and all the new players will have an important role to play next season. There’s a month to go before the transfer window closes and it is probable that Klopp will complete another signing or two. Earlier in the summer, Liverpool had been linked with PSG’s Brazilian winger Lucas Moura but the rumours faded with time and the signing of Sadio Mane suggested Liverpool might not sign him. But reports suggests that Liverpool are still interested in Lucas Moura and want to sign the Brazilian. If Klopp is able to add Lucas to his squad, Liverpool have one of the best set of attacking midfielders in the Premier League.

Lucas Moura is a versatile winger and plays equally well in both the wings. Last season, Moura scored 9 goals in 36 appearances for PSG and his performances drew attention from Klopp. Moura’s passing and his vision are excellent for his young age. He plays perfect through balls and creates a lot of goal-scoring chances. His composure over the ball is great and his dribbling abilities demonstrate his control on the ball. A must for any winger, Moura delivers dangerous crosses for his co-forwards to score from close range. Moura’s pace makes him a threat during counter attacks and adding the speed merchant to the squad will bolster Liverpool’s attacking threat by a good margin.

Liverpool already have the likes of Coutinho, Firmino, and Mane as their first choice attacking midfielders. Klopp’s preferred formation last season was 4-2-3-1 but in matches against some of the top clubs, he also used the 4-3-3. In both the formations, the wingers will have an important role. Playing Mane on the right and Moura on the left will make up for one of the fastest as well as a very creative pair. Moura’s style of play includes playing quick one touch passes and dribbling past defenders. His style of play can help him link up well with Coutinho. Both of them play good through balls and will create plenty of goal scoring chances. Lucas Moura is an outstanding winger but he is still far from the finished product. Under Klopp, the Brazilian can become a world class winger and signing him will be like the cherry on the cake for Liverpool.
