3 Liverpool Players Whose Role Might Be Changed By Jurgen Klopp Next Season

It is fair to say that the Merseyside club Liverpool have been one of the most successful club in the current transfer window as they have acquired seven top class players. The incomings were surely a necessity for the club, but seven transfers have mobbed the midfield, hence we might see many players leaving the club in order to get a regular football.

The squad is currently preparing themselves for the pre-season tour, and on the other hand, their manager is still looking to add a couple of faces into the squad. This is no secret that even after completing this much of transfers, there still are a couple of areas where the team needs a reinforcement especially the left back spot.

Liverpool were linked to many left defenders in the recent time, namely, Jonas Hector, Ben Chilwell and Raphael Guerreiro, but the Leicester City star ended up signing a new deal with the foxes with Guerreiro joined Klopp’s previous club Borussia Dortmund, and what is left is Jonas Hector, whose deal is looking unlikely as the window is approaching to its end.

As stated earlier, the midfield right at this very moment has been mobbed due to the arrivals, and if not selling, we might see players playing a different role for the club, and here, we give you three Liverpool players, whose roles might get changed by the manager next season:

1. James Milner-

The 30-year-old Englishman, who joined Liverpool last season from Manchester City is unarguably the most versatile players in England. Milner, just for his team, can play in all wide areas and could also operate the game from centre, but many say that his true potential comes when deployed on the attacking wings.

Well, to be perfectly fair, I really think that Milner, who scored five goals and bagged 11 assists last season, might have to change his role permanently. The player has already played several positions, but he is still considered as a midfielder, but in the coming season, we might see him playing most of his game time as a wing back because Liverpool already have Mane and Lallana for the attacking spot.

2. Wijnaldum-

The 25-year-old has been recently signed from the fellow English side Newcastle United after a lengthy speculation, but speaking honestly, he might play a very different role in the Liverpool shirt. Wijnaldum, who scored 11 goals last season, was an attacking midfielder for the toons, but in Liverpool, only due to a congestion in the midfield, he might operate the game from the centre.

Not attacking midfielder, central midfielder! The 25-year-old can operate the game from both the wings and can also play as an attacking midfielder, but as Liverpool already have the upgraded options for the position, the Dutch international might have to change his role to get a regular game time.

3. Ragnar Klavan-

This rather is a secondary position than a different role. Ragnar Klavan has been recently bought from the German side Augsburg, but due to the shortage of a proper left back, Jurgen Klopp might play this towering defender on the left side. The former AZ Alkmaar defender has not played on the left side for a long time, but as Brad Smith has left Liverpool and Flanagan’s future is hanging nowhere, we might see Klavan guiding the side from the left in some games. Klavan had a great defensive record in the Bundesliga last season, but he might struggle a bit in the initial stages of the Premier League, but eventually, the Estonian skipper will surely cope up with the pressure.
