Why Liverpool Should Forget Signing This Barcelona Star And Concentrate Elsewhere

The Merseyside club Liverpool have already completed seven signings so far, yet it is believed that their German manager Jürgen Klopp has no mood to stop right here.

Now, as per the latest reports, the Merseysiders are currently monitoring the situation of Barcelona’s 29-year-old attacker, Arda Turan

.

Earlier reports suggested that Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign the Turkish international, but it was a loan deal. Well, it is quite obvious that until the players like Iniesta, Rakitic and M.S.N are there, Turan will find it hard to break into the first team and the situation has now gone worst as Barcelona have now signed the Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes.

Turan is surely a great player, but do Liverpool really need him?

To be perfectly honest here, I really don’t think that Turan can find his way into the Liverpool’s starting XI as well. Yes, the 29-year-old is a very versatile attacker, but there isn’t any space in the midfield for Turan.

Well, recently, the rumour has been denied by the Catalan giants and the club have stated that the 29-year-old will not be leaving Camp Nou.

Speaking as Gomes was presented at the Camp Nou on Wednesday afternoon, the club’s transfer chief said there are high expectations on Arda to perform to the level which first caught Barca’s eye, and insisted he was sure this would happen next season.

“We expect a lot from Arda, his performances,” Robert said. “He had a difficult year, we must not forget he had the issue of the FIFA ban. And it is not easy to play for Barca. But we are convinced his performances this year will be very good. We are sure that we will see the Arda from Atletico Madrid.”

As stated earlier, the player is a quite versatile one, but right at this very moment, Liverpool do not need a midfielder. The arrival of Sadio Mane and Wijnaldum is more than enough for the side and any more signings will only make the midfield more congested. Turan really deserves a proper game time because let’s face it, he is one of the most successful Turkish footballers in the history of  the sport and even his style of play might suit many top clubs, but not Liverpool, really.

The 29-year-old is known for his ball skills and his dangerous goal scoring prowess and more than that, he is known for his game-changing abilities. The Turkish winger, during his four years of tenure with Atletico Madrid has more assists to his name than goals and that is something really amazing. Unlike modern winger, Turan’s game is solely based on the flanks and his inch perfect crosses are something that could easily haunt the opposition, but Klopp prefers a completely different style. His wingers cuts inside with his pace and we see a more pacey game rather than a crossing one, hence, Turan might struggle here, and therefore, I do believe that Liverpool should cut the chase right away to sign this Star Turk.
