Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is making news lately for his link-up with a lot of players from different leagues as tough times are calling up for desperate measures with the boss looking to fill in a few positions. The Reds are in desperate need of a left-back and probably a defensive midfielder in their side. With Allen gone and the future of Lucas looking uncertain, Klopp would surely want to sign a midfielder and restore some confidence back in the fans. With a lot happening in the transfer market, the latest speculation is; Liverpool have shown interest in signing the Argentine midfielder, Leandro Paredes.
Who is Leandro Paredes?
The midfielder started his career playing for Boca Juniors and after four successful seasons, he moved to Italy. While in Italy, he had a couple of loan spells with Empoli and Chievo and has now returned to AS Roma. However, the 22-year-old midfielder is most likely to leave Roma and look for a new club and Liverpool is looking like an option to consider. The Reds have a tough competition from Juventus, Monaco and Manchester City. Paredes is known to play at the central midfield position and also plays for the attacking midfield position if needed.
The Argentine midfielder was orchestrated in the entire midfield at Empoli and this ability has managed to grab the attention of Jurgen Klopp. As it turns out, Paredes is not just any midfielder who just holds the ball and does not do much with it. On the contrary, he is a very creative midfielder who moves the ball around and tries to exploit the slightest of gaps possible. Coupled with this is his passing range and his vision which only a few midfielders possess.
A fit at Anfield-
Liverpool have quality players when it comes to attack but they lack players who can create chances for those attackers and especially midfielders who can deliver those long passes and those aerial balls across the pitch. With Paredes in the line-up, Klopp can aim for that creativity with Can holding his back with the strength and the agility. It will be interesting to see the combination of Paredes, Coutinho, Mane and Firmino in midfield and how they feed Sturridge or Origi in attack. However, the chances of this move to happen look slim with so much competition up for grabs for the talented individual. As far as Klopp is concerned, Paredes would be a really good signing if the deal happens.
