The Merseysiders were recently held to play a dull and dire goalless draw at Anfield by a defensive Manchester United side. Liverpool had their fair share of chances but thanks to the brilliance of David De Gea, the score remained intact.

Liverpool completely dominated the game in every department, but what was missing was the end product. Klopp’s men have started their season on a great note and they will be looking to close the gap that separates them from the league leaders.

The next hurdle for the Merseysiders is West Bromwich Albion, who will come to this game with a great sense of optimism after their 1-1 draw against inform Tottenham Hotspur. Talking about the recent form, Liverpool are unbeaten in last six Premier League games, and on the other hand, West Brom have played four draws and won just once (in their last six premier league games).

And this is how the German manager will line-up his side against West Brom.

Goalkeeper: Loris Karius-

The former Mainz man had his nervy moments in the game against United, but the Devils were unable to trouble him as they only had one shot on target in the entirety of 90 minutes. He will have to stand up against a West Brom team who are known for its aerial threats.

Defence: Clyne; Lovren; Matip; Milner-

The defensive line is expected to be the same against Tony Pulis’s men, and truth to be told, this is the best line-up Liverpool can form this season.

Nathaniel Clyne has been in a great form and could certainly be given the task of keeping Nacer Chadli quiet in the game. The former Tottenham man already has four goals to his credit and could well be a threat for the former Southampton man.

The centre back pairing will most probably be of Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip, who did their best to stop the offensive duties of Manchester United last time out, especially Matip, who gave Ibrahimovic a bitter taste of his own medicine. They will be up against Salomon Rondon, who can be a pure threat on his day.

The good news for the Liverpool fans is Joe Gomez has started training with the side, but for the fixture, the manager will surely be using his most versatile general, James Milner. The former Manchester City star had his bitter moments against United as Marcus Rashford out-paced him a couple of times, but no harm was done on the night from his side of the pitch.

Midfield Three: Henderson; Wijnaldum; Lallana-

Another boost for the fans as well as for the manager would be the return of these two men (Wijnaldum and Lallana). The duo missed their respective starting berth against United and their absence was certainly felt one way or the other. But as soon as Lallana was brought on, Liverpool’s attacking flair came into life, but unfortunately, they failed to convert the dominance into goals.

With that being said, Henderson will be turning back to his old berth, i.e., defensive midfield and will be guiding the team with his pinpoint passes throughout the pitch. He had a pretty good game against United and he certainly is doing a fair justice to the arm-band.

Wijnaldum and Lallana will be retaining their respective spots for the game, hence a positive result from the side can be expected. Since the old chaps will be lining up, Emre Can might have to sit on the bench and besides that, Philippe Coutinho will turn back to his usual spot.

Attacking Trio: Mane; Firmino; Coutinho-

Firmino1

Sadio Mane was a complete an anonymous figure against United, but that was mainly because of the strict defensive work of the Devils. The Senegalese will be hoping to get a goal in the fixture this time around and will be exploiting Brom’s defence with his usual pace.

Just like many others, Firmino and Coutinho will be deployed on their usual spot and will be looking to assert their authority from the beginning. The trio possesses extreme acceleration and pace, hence they could easily out pace Brom’s aging defenders.

This line-up should be more than enough to secure an easy win for the reds.
